Conditions:

Visibilty: Night

Water Temp: ??c

Bottom Time: 50minutes

Max Depth: 2m

Details: Me and Chris went back to Pt Henry, this time with the wide angle to try to get some shots of the large numbers of white bait we saw last time. Numbers were down though and getting a good wide angle shot at night with silvery fish proved difficult.

Conditions:

Visibilty: Night Dive

Water Temp: ??c

Bottom Time: 60minutes

Max Depth: 4m

Details: To try somewhere new to night dive, Chris and I headed to Point Henry Pier. As soon as we entered a literal swarm of white bait flocked to our lights and it felt like we were under attack, with fish darting erratically in all directions…some hitting us in the mask, on the face, into the camera ports…it was madness. We pushed on and it eased up a bit when we change to red light mode on our torches. Not a whole lot to photograph, but chris found a Noumea haliclona on some pink sponge that was a good find.

Details:    I’d just bought a Ys-120 strobe off ebay, which has a slave sensor built in, so i was hoping to do a couple of back lit off camera strobe shots. It proved difficult to get the strobe to trigger, and i hadn’t worked out mounting opetions for it yet, so very few shots were takedn with it. Instead i focussed on some baitfish balls.
