Dive Number: 461 07/04/2013 Cod Cave

Conditions: ?

Visibilty: 8m

Water Temp: ??c

Bottom Time: 50minutes

Details: This is a fairly small site, but it packs a punch and is very photogenic. The large bommie has a large cave at its core, that’s home to a pair of Rock Cod. At the entrance sits a cluster of ascidians which I love to photograph. This sites definently on the dive again list.

Dive Number: 289 03/04/12 19.30, J4 Sub (28m – Shallow Sub)

Wind: ???

Tide: ???

Conditions:

Visibilty: -m

Water Temp: 16.8c

Bottom Time: 44minutes

Max Depth: 28.1m

Air usage:

SAC: ???? litres/min

Details: The J4 is one of the shallowest of the scuttled wrecks outside the heads, so it was going to make a good introductory dive to the ships graveyard. This sub was coming up to its 85th anniversary of lying on the ocean floor and it was just oozing with a sense of history and air of mystique. Ambient light was the only way to go to try to capture this, but it required high ISO’s and focussing was difficult. Cant wait to diver this again. Great atmospheric dive.

Dive Number: 262 24/01/12 ???, SS Orungal Wreck

Wind: ???

Tide: ???

Conditions:

Visibilty: 8m

Water Temp: ???

Bottom Time: 20minutes

Max Depth: 5m

Air usage: 30bar/2500psi

SAC: ???? litres/min

Details: On our way back to the boat ramp we nearly hit the boilers of the Orungal wreck, submerged only centimetres below the water. Luckily we saw it at the last minute, so decided it would make a good tank emptier of a dive. It turned out to be the best 30bar ever spent! My first sighting Eagle rays, and the area was teeming with fishlife, notably Luderick which are very rare around PPB and surrounds. A great little 3rd dive to top off a great day.
